Meghann Valade

Meghann was introduced to yoga in 2005 when her friend invited her to a yoga class. She drifted back and forth from the practice until she found Baron Baptiste's Power Yoga. This practice spoke to her in a way that no other yoga had, she was instantly hooked & hungry for more. In 2011 Meghann completed Baron Baptiste's Level 1 teacher training, she returned from her experience with an eagerness to share this practice. Always a student first, Meghann plans to attend her Level 2 training with Baron in 2013 to share even more of her inner-power with Petoskey. Meghann's Power Vinyasa class allows for many different levels to be challenged in the same class.

Outside the studio, Meghann is an avid downhill skier, runner, & adventure seeker. She works as a Graphic Designer. Meghann moved to Petoskey from Grand Rapids in July 2012.

Christy Stempky

Vinyasa Pro

Christy was a skeptic when first introduced to yoga. The practice found her again in 2010 when she was struggling with arthritis in her low back as a result from two back surgeries attempting to correct her scoliosis in 2005 and 2007. Chronically in pain and struggling with having to reduce participation in activities that she loved, Christy was frustrated and full of despair. After contemplating for months and strong persuasion from her lawyer sister, she finally attended a class at Yoga State. She entered with minimal flexibility and full of aches, by the end of class she was dripping sweat, flat on her mat, oddly, feeling better than she had in a long time. Christy was hooked; attending as many classes as she could fit in her last year at Michigan State. It became her therapy, giving her more than she ever could have imagined likely. Upon graduating in May 2011 with an BS in Interdisciplinary Health Studies, Christy wasn’t sure about her future, but she knew she wanted to share the beneficial practice with as many people possible. She trained abroad in Mexico and Costa Rica with Sean and Karen Conley for her 200 hr teaching certification. Because of consistently practicing yoga, Christy is able to continue living actively. Other passions include (but not limited to) outdoor activities, horseback riding, running, basketball, hockey, snowboarding, photography, baking, and creating.
